As we get closer I'd like your opinion on trail selection. Curious which ones to sign up for. I'm assuming you can only sign up for two....one each day?Super excited to head back to this one. Looks like we have another great NVJA group heading. I am tracking:
Am I missing anyone?
For those who have never been to a Jamboree, will do a few updates when it gets closer. If you want to ride up as a group, plan to caravan up Thursday morning (IIRC it is a 6 or 7 hour haul), will register and get checked in. This one is really cool as everything is in one location. They provide three meals, but I have to have snacks so will probably bring a small cooler.
Sounds good. I would be curious to hear @LASTLB take, but I thought this one was the hardest of the 4 jamborees I have been to (comparing like ratings). I normally look to 5-6 on day one and then decide if I want to go harder on day two. For this one, I did Apache Pass on day one, and decided to stick with same level and did Rocky Top on day two. I thought it was much harder then the 5-6 at Uwharrie. As we get closer I'd like your opinion on trail selection. Curious which ones to sign up for. We all did Old Scout Trail together on Friday. The weather held up great and was a nice day, but very sloppy and muddy. The mud added an element of challenge, but all in all a great day. Day two, the group split into two, with half going to Explorers Ransom (I think) and the rest of us going to Apache Pass. Apache is the one I remember from the last time I came to this one and was once again, my favorite Jamboree trail I have been too. Had an awesome time and was a great group.Looks a little slippery. What trails did you sign up for?
Very disappointed I had to cancel my plans. Looks like a perfect Jeep weekend was had. You did plant the seed for these events though. Looking forward to retirement when I'll have more control over my schedule. Id for sure like to participate in one of these events. We all did Old Scout Trail together on Friday. Wich you could have been there, but will do it again next time.
all trail sign up are first come, first serve. typically, people start lining up in the morning BEFORE the rig inspection. rig inspections start at a specific time, usually around 1500ish. all rigs have to be inspected before trail signup. they ask if you have lockers, size tire, lift, winch, etc. they give you your rig sheet with a "rating" and then you go to trail signup. some trails go fast, some go slow. this is for any Jeep Jamboree.Do the sign-ups for the different trail options "sell out" fast? I was wondering if there was an advantage to get there ahead of sign-ups to not run the risk of this. All the trail descriptions at JJPenWoods looked interesting so probably not a big deal.
very cool pics. i did enjoy Penn's Wood tremendously.Awesome first day in the books.... If anybody is interested in checking out, here are a few pictures from the trails on day 1.
