2025 Jeep Jamboree Schedule

LastLB and 42 Circle also got in. I will be solo and one of the cool things about this event is that we can stay in Univ of Pitts dorms

Not yet...will try now. Last time I felt like I reserved a couple weeks after registering...but let me try

Last year this event sold out in < 5 minutes. It is still open now and really glad to see that it looks like we have a good group. Post up if others get in.

FYI for everybody going ,it says NEW for 2025 requirement for winch owners to have an appropriate tree rated saver and a soft shackle in your Jeep.

I support that rule change.

I don't know if anyone here has seen the damage you can do to a tree, winching just one time with the rope wrapped directly around the tree, but it is devastating to the tree. Having a 4" or wider strap disperses the load enough that there is no damage to the tree.

Also, I ditched 100% of all the metal on my winch line. I don't even have the metal eyelet on the end. Not that the rope can't still hurt or kill you, there is a lot less energy in the rigging with just rope, a soft shackle and a tree saver. The likelihood of getting hurt or killed by getting hit by a snapped line is dramatically reduced with zero metal in the rigging.

My next task is to swap my steel line for rope, quick front sway bar disconnect, and new rear sway bar bushings, oh and bottle of whiskey and some beer to finish up the projects.

I know lot of folks got registered for Penns Woods. Today is the day to register for housing (reminder) at the University.

Thanks Sherman. You all can save a little money if you want to double up. I teamed up with 42Circle and Lee Ree and we got a 4 person rooms. We are booked for Thurs, Fri, Sat. I noticed you could book Tuesday and Wednesday, but registration does not even open til Thursday afternoon, so will likely get together a caravan for Thursday morning.

This is layout, so you do have some privacy:
