Install of a TJ CAI
« on: March 21, 2020, 02:01:25 PM »
I picked this up from a Nova member to use after I stick the new to me 4.0 into my Scrambler (Thanks again Bill).  My question is how does it attach to the intake?  I assume there is supposed to be a rubber or plastic fitting between this tube and the intake.  Does anyone have pics of one attached?

It looks like I will need to either purchase this adapter or see if I can source an exhaust reducer that will fit.  And some howe clamps of course.  Not sure if I need the TB spacer though.  I guess I will see later once I get closer.

Dain,

This place has an assortment of silicone hoses that would likely solve your problem. Just measure what you need and see if they've got one.

Are you sure its worth the trouble??? I would use the best filter you can find that filters out smallest particles equal to the OEM filter or better.  This will probably kill any addl CFM's you get.
Real HP and Tq gains are minimal at best. Always look at the area under the curves.

OEM filters usually do the best job of filtering.

I hear you.  And I am not doing this CAI for any improved hp.  I am using it because it was given to me and I am trying to keep the costs of this swap as effective as possible.  And a stock airbox was not available for free.  If one come up, then we will see a out using it.

If you have some sheeet aluminun or sheet metal and have access to a bender or ahnd tools you can make you own cold air box. Something to ponder while we are all dealing with Wuhan virus.
