Hey from Blacksburg!

Hey everyone, excited to join on some upcoming rides. I'm down in Blacksburg and have been wheeling for 15 years. Currently building my 6th Jeep (have built 2 CJs, a Scrambler, two XJs), which is a 97 TJ and got back from Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion last week (highly recommend). I really like seeing the "wrenching weekends" and helping others and happy to lend a hand when I can, or if there are any down this way. Been fabricating and welding for years and build everything myself, so hopefully I can help and continue learning from the group.

welcome! As mentioned when I was chatting through the site, thanks for checking us out. Do you have a picture of the Scrambler? I have an 81 now that I use as my rock crawler.

Have some on my phone somewhere just gotta find them :) I'm pretty bad at taking pictures but imagine I will more as my kids get into it. Sold it recently to someone who will do whatever they want with it. Was an 82 on axles I built, 38.5s, etc. Didn't get around to finishing the family cage on it and motor swapped it to the 4.0 out of one of my XJs. Got rid of everything so only focusing on my TJ now which will be pretty fun to build and I've got most everything here for it.

I just swapped in a 4.0 from a 98 XJ. So far, I am loving that motor.
Yeah mine was from a 99. Had painless wiring kit and then worked with HotWireAuto to do the harness work to make it work with some of the existing CJ harness. I don't like electrical much and not the best at it but enjoy learning.

I am with you. I had HotWire in Arkansas build mine to mate with the CJ bulkhead. Very glad to have them do it for me.

Welcome aboard! We have a club meeting on the 8th and are planning a fall foliage ride for Oct, as well as an outing to Good Evening Ranch!

:jw Welcome. Does Sinking Creek 4WD Association still exist down there and are/where you a member?
