I received an interesting message and thought I would share with the group. I dont know any more details then what is here and will provide updates as the time gets closer.
Here is message I received:
I did reply and told him we have a lot of folks with years/decades of wheeling in this area who would know a lot of the trails and may be interested in supporting. I was kind of thinking about what the club did with the bicycle group the past couple years. Knowing the Woodstock area down through Lexington, not sure how much of those trails will be fire roads or what route they plan to take, but I am definitely interested in ensuring we do not support trespassing or riding on non-trails (of course).
I told him we would likely not be a great contact for donations, but we may be able to help with some volunteers
I also asked a couple follow up questions:
Will keep you all updated, but sounds kind of cool.
Here is message I received:
Hey Scott. Our team is organizing a challenging off-road expedition. We would like to pick a few additional vehicles and seek support personnel for breakdown assistance, videography, and campsite prep, ect... This self-supported event will commence in Woodstock, Virginia, and conclude near Lexington. The itinerary includes varied terrain—trail riding, rock crawling, dirt roads, and limited highway driving—along with camping, water crossings, and scenic stops. Locations remain confidential.
We are actively seeking sponsors to provide equipment or financial support. The event will be documented by our SRG YouTube channel and potentially a Motor Trend editor.
Currently scheduled for May, the event may be postponed to June.

I also asked a couple follow up questions:
- Are there opportunities if people want to enter as a participant?
- Understand why the location remains confidential, but have to ask to confirm that these are all legal off roading spots. We have seen way too many trails shut down or closed off because people not following tread lightly principles.
Will keep you all updated, but sounds kind of cool.
