Hello from Aldie
« on: February 12, 2020, 09:40:33 PM »
Hi All,

My name is Andy and my wife and I just moved from Colorado to the area. We ordered a JLUR with the turbo last summer. We tried to do as much off-roading before we moved to VA. I am looking forward to finding some local off roading and collecting some more badges of honor.

Black Bear Pass

Imogene Pass

Hoping these pics work.

I'll check with the wife and see if we can make it. Typically we bring our three boys with us on all of the trails. Does anyone else bring kids along?

I know Island Creek!  Pass by it all the time!  You know the Red Hot and Blue at Beulah and Telegraph?  It's now a Mission BBQ!  Awesome BBQ!  There is one at Greenbrier if you ever get a chance.

I am 6'9.  Getting older.  At some point I started shrinking.  Losing inches in height, hair, memory.  :rotf

Welcome Moto Moto!   In Ashburn right around the corner from Aldie.   Did a tour in Colorado from 2008-2011 and greatly miss the beauty and quality of life out there.  Look forward to meeting you at Rausch in March.

I love BBQ. I went to red, hot, and blue a couple times when we lived there. I'll have to try mission bbq. If you are ever over here, Hammer Down is very good. The best BBQ i've ever had is Franklin BBQ in Austin, Texas. I need to get my green egg unpacked and start smoking.  Mmm brisket...

I can't wait for Rausch too! I am hoping we get a chance to run one of the badge trails. I have my Black Bear and Imogene badges. I made my parents come with me on them, so I had second vehicle. Black bear was their first off road trail, Imogene their second. His stock hard rock did great.

Forgot to add...since you have kids, and if you're free, come out to the club meeting on 3/8. It's in Chantilly, and it's our annual Chili Cookoff. We usually have lots of people attend, and its kid friendly. Our kids will more than likely be there as well.
