YJ Frame rust...Repair estimate before I pull trigger
« on: August 30, 2018, 07:22:31 PM »
Been talking to a guy about his YJ. All is good but owner admits it "is not road worthy" due to frame rust. He is including patch kits for both sides - doesn't look that bad to me except taking off entire suspension to weld

Can anyone ballpark on how bad this is from pics and/or rough estimate on repair costs, I know you YJ owners have been through this.

Ideally looking to buy saturday if all goes well....

Thanks

As bad as that looks I would expect to find more issues, It's also been repaired before. Knowing it's a northeast rig. I would expect a frame swap and to spend $2000 or more in doing so.

That's a huge concern, even for something that's 80% trail only I'm not looking to spend time and repair on body repairs.
