After much debate on up-travel, shock length, bump stops, and my limited distance my stock LJ mounts can fit... I ordered shocks to match the new springs. Crossing my fingers I got the numbers right, really unhappy with the total up and total travel of the rear..

Is that the whole lift or just the shocks also what are your thoughts on there products

It’s just the shocks. I have rubicon XR springs and Teraflex spacers in the front to level me out.

I don’t really know about them yet. I actually put up a thread in JL wrangler forum asking about them and didn’t get one single response.

I originally ordered the RS7MT’s from rancho…heard all good things on the interwebs but whenever I talked with a distributor or a shop they said Ranchos aren’t what they used to be and tried steering me away. After a week of waiting and no lead on when some of the shocks would be in I was talked into these haha. Same price ($45 more actually) with the discounts I got and the mailing rebate Skyjacker has right now.

I’ll definitely report back. I drove on them about 15 miles so far (road driving) and I feel they handle pretty similar to stock…a little softer on bumps (which I like). I intentionally hit a big pot hole coming out of my driveway and it was super smooth so I’m excited to see how they feel off road crawling.

Thanks I looked them up and noticed their lift kits weren't super expensive so got intrigued and interested in doing more research into them. Keep me posted

How much lift do you have and what are your current up/down travel numbers?

Unfortunately it's not quite as simple as I'd like it to be.

I'm tearing it apart right now but before it was a Rock Krawler (RK) 3.5" LJ front and RK 4.5" LJ rear. Due to hardtop, full size spare, etc, I had about 1" more droop in the rear. Additionally, the spring relocation bracket has increased the distance between the frame and axle. RK didn't engineer their springs for spare tires or carriers on the TJ/LJ per their owner, so there was more lift needed in the rear. This measures out to around 4.25" in the front and level in the rear. Last year when i did the spring change, I ran a 3.5" F/R (matched set) and was a full inch too low, plus bottomed out my shocks constantly.

Additionally, it's on a 3.5" Metal Cloak (MC) short arm system, which meant it has more lift than the arms really liked. This meant Long Arms or lowering the Jeep.

Solution (with hard top and spare) was to run a TJ 3.5" front from RK and an RK LJ 3.5" rear. Results to be determined.

Current uptravel on rear shocks is 4", without spare or carrier it was closer to 5" in the rear.

Front is 5" prior to spring change.

Ideally, after spring change. I will be ~1" lower all around, so I'm basing shocks on that. They're actually holding the order until I get these back springs in, which have been the issue since day 1.

I'm actually hosting a wrenching party, solo, today on the LJ trying to get it sorted.

Replaced the headlights on the tj and saw that my front passenger tire was flat pumped it back up got to 25 psi before my pump ran out of battery gonna check it in the morning but looks like I'm getting 5 new tires this week. Reason 5 is spare is 21 years old and other 4 are showing low tread so might as well do them all
