After talking with a few different shops and some further evaluation, I have a solid plan for fixing the Banks turbo setup on the TJ. First step is getting the old turbine housing off the Banks bracket so I can install a new one. PXL_20250708_204856903.MP.jpg

Do tell!

I am thinking cut the bolt heads off and then drill the shafts

Heat and some kinetic massage

Then retap and install with high heat anti seize.

After we spoke and you gave me a solid plan I started digging a little more on what I had and what I would need to buy to remove all the bolts. Taking into account the tools I would need to buy, and the time I needed to find to do it, I decided to try and find a shop to help me. I spoke with a local turbo shop that said they will be able to remove the bolts for me.

It is for that reason that my next splurge tool will be an electric induction bolt heater.

Received some hard plastic panels to replace the saggy nets in my door last christmas. It's been procrastinating for several months and finally started putting them on. I like that. They are solid and won't be saggy, but what a pain to install.

Had to drive mine into the city for work... Which always sucks. Will be doing it again tomorrow. :(

I drive mine most days. Easier to drive seeing over traffic.

Final bit going in and maintenance being done this week to be ready for the Wild West trip. Looks like 3 for the convoy out.

Ready......
..... Steady......

Contemplating putting the soft top back on. We have had more rain this year than the last 5 years combined. I haven't driven mine much in the last 6 months because of it. Well that and I'm obsessed with my new to me truck for the last year.

Once I get over the financial shock of a new house, I really need to start looking at a hard top and JeepAir AC Unit.

Walked by it for the first time in a couple of weeks. It is really wet as I had left it without doors and only the bikini top on. Good to be back for a few days. Will drive it and continue to try to get the last snapped bolt out of the hub this weekend. Fingers crossed

After much back and forth I finally went ahead and tinted the front doors to match the factory tint on the other windows. Guess it will at least cut down on amount of heat gain while we're out west with more continuous sun. Pleased with outcome.
What percentage did you go with Joe?
