Checked flex to determine if and where the 40’s would rub. Results are they have enough bump stop to tuck the 40’s nicely into the wheel well, I still had some room to go in the rear before hitting the stop, but they rub the lower control arms if the wheel is turned hard left or right. I thought I was going to hit the front bumper but still has less than a finger width of space

Wow. That's close but a good amount of flex for sure. Looking good.

Joe,
Little nip and tuck for the front would not be a bad thing. Give yourself a little insurance. Stock axle width you are going to rub the control arms. On my Red Jeep I went to a 72WMS axle to avoid that. Spacers will help but you run the real threat of breaking studs, spacer and loosing a wheel. I love the look with the 40s, Maybe a different Back Spacing but then you run into scrubradius isses and that equates to a touch wheel with bumps and puddles. You could adjust the stops to stop just at frame rub and then just deal with a bigger turning radius.

Red Jeep spec. 72inch WMS to WMS axles 4.5 Back space wheels provided a near 0 scrub radius. Also I was running 10 degrees of caster, slightly too much for the road ( daily driving) 7-8 would be much better. This also helped contain DW. with 10 degrees I could hit bumps and puddles at speed and no adverse steering issues.

Gearing minimum of 4.56 4.88 with towing would be better. We can do the EoC mod and clean up the exhaust and tune it to complete the transformation.

With heatign issues onthe JTRD, you might consider relocation of those bar mounted lights to allow more air to the coolers. Cali is going to be hot and the run out takes across Nevada.

Love the wheel tire combo!

Cheers

Changed the engine oil, always fun and messy, I swear Jeep engineers must lay in bed at night and laugh about the shenanigans they pull on us, changed the diff oils (no drain plug on the front axle, that is a 2021 feature only and .......NO DRAIN PLUG on the rear either!!!! see previous engineer comment). Then the mac daddy of PITA, changing the T-Case fluid with a NextVenture full skid system in place..... counter, 14 bolts to remove the t-case skid just to get to the drain and full plugs...... wahooo, the joys of a Jeep...... the LJ was so much easier to work on, but the 392 is way more fun.......

I'll be doing the t-case fluid soon but my skid has a removable section for access so I don't have the fight you did.:sneaky:

Replaced my Gladiator's third brake light which had stopped working.

Replaced injectors on the tj. Replaced spark plugs on the tj and swapped the coil rail for the viper mod. Also investigated how to remove front and rear bumper for the next project
