Hey all,
I have some family in town this week and they want to do a little Jeeping Friday (11/29). Any interest in a day trip to Flagpole or Peters Mill? Would love to have a little company.

Adding some logistics:

Going to be hitting Flagpole, we will go up union Springs and come down by Switzer Lake. I was planning to meet at Sheets in Haymarket, then top off gas in Harrisonburg. I think Dain is bringing trailer since it is supposed to be cool and thinking the elementary school would be a great place for truck. It is only a couple miles to trailhead AND we will pass it after coming off trail. So here are important details:


Going:

Meet:
Option 1: 9:00 Sheetz in Haymarket (there are tow that are close now, so we will be at 15315 Washington St, Haymarket
Option 2: 11ish we should be to Sheetz in Harrisonburg (764 E Market St) where we can top off with gas
Option 3: 900-930 Mountain View Elementary School (2800 Rawley Pike, Harrisonburg, VA 22801) Dain will leave tow vehicle in this parking lot.
Elementary school will be last stop before heading to trail where we will stop and air down by lake on Union Springs Rd (where road turns to gravel)

I will turn on radio and be on channel 4 the whole way there, so if you miss me, feel free to ping. I am normally about 75MPH on 66 & 81

Let me confirm with Amy. I'm not sure of our Friday plans. Joe DNFjoe and I did Peter's Mill Run last weekend south (Edinburg Gap) to north (Fort Valley). Curious what the trail looks like starting at Edinburg Gap and heading further south. OnX calls it the Edinburg Gap trail 5.6 miles and rates it Green.

Honestly I'd be open to going anywhere but not sure what my obligations Friday are. Mark me as a maybe.

I would rather do flagpole, if you are up for that.... If not, we can do peter's mill again.
 
I'm good with either. New to the area so I just like seeing new trails. That said Flagpole was a fun time for us. We went with the club (for the first time) for the Fall Foliage run and had a great time.
 
What do you think @Gr8Dain ?

Right now leaning towards meeting at Sheetz in Haymarket around 9ish which will put us in Harrisonburg around 11. If that works we can shore it up. Anyone else off Friday and want to hit up Flagpole?
 
Nacho, I was thinking of heading up to Flagpole Friday and skip the craziness of Black Friday. Do you mind If I tag along.
 
I am up for it. Just working on the logistics. Does it feel dumb to trailer to Flagpole? Not sure about driving the Scrambler 3 hours each way.
