Political Posts & Comments should be in Off Topic only

Website Committee
We haven't really ever moderated political comments and posts on the site for that reason alone, but in the past these are often the ones that go sideways and end up requiring some moderation. The site has been around for sometime, where it was the only hangout online for many where jeeps was the reason we were here, but the chatter was all over the place. Now a days the main reason is still the same, but there are many other focused outlets for other topics. If that is Facebook, Reddit, Discord, whatever where a topic can be focused in on. Ours is jeeps, which should be the reason you are here. If you would like to talk about political topics we encourage you to seek out that platform in order for your voice to be heard, but this is not that place.

Often other chat services have blanket rules where you just don't talk politics on that service (or risk being kicked out). For our site, we think its obvious to just keep it in Off Topic. All have access to Off Topic and anything politic will immediately be moved there if posted in any forum (Members Only, Jeep Discussion, Tech Talk, etc.). For example, so you are ranting about some random jeep topic and throw in a comment about the president or a political party or governor, that post will be split and moved to off topic. If it is the start of a thread, the thread will be moved. The new thread/post in Off Topic will have the title edited to mark it as containing "politics" so that is clear once moved to Off Topic.

No user warnings or strikes to suspension or banning, topics will just be moved to Off Topic.

If users would like to report posts for political content, please use the "report" feature and a moderator will address it.

Please let us know if there are any questions.
