OBD2 reader

I had the engine warning (steady, not blinking) come on the other day on my 2013 JK. Rather than go to a parts store or dealer to find out what it was, I ordered a Foxwell NT530 scanner programmed for Chrysler/Dodge /Jeep.
It said that my oil pressure sensor was locked in open. Hmm, I had replaced the oil cooler/filter housing a while back with an aftermarket Aluminum one. Rather that use the generic pressure sensor that came with it, I used a brand new factory one, the thought of taking all that stuff apart again was depressing.
I decided to just do a reset on all error codes and see if it reoccurred. Its been 2 weeks and all is still fine, so I'm happy.
I will now keep the reader in my JK at all times. (Gotta come in handy on the trail to check if something is really serious)

I have a similar scanner, Ancell 8000. Programmed for hundreds of cars. I use it for all kinds of stuff. It will turn on ABS pumps for bleeding, reset all kinds of service codes like battery monitors etc.
Really awesome.

I suggest anyone on Android look into a ELM327 USB dongle and Torque Pro. It gives the standard OBDII error code reading (below P1000), brand and model specific OBDII error reading (above P1000), BCM error code reading, ABS reading, and some airbag system codes for some brands. The app is $5 and you can buy ELM327 readers for $20, though quality ones like MXLink or PLX are about a hundred.

The biggest thing about 5orque Pro is that you can create real-time gauge "panels" from probably over 100 different pids, often more, based upon your make and model. You can monitor pretty much every single engine parameter that's monitored by the body control module, transmission control module, or engine control module in real time with different gauge types and skins. Compared to ScanGauge, AutoMeter gauges, etc it's monumentally powerful for a nominal amount of money. For those of you that have tablets and similar integrated into your dash, it would be a magical addition.
