Another great place to be part of something bigger in future disaster relief situations is by joining Team Rubicon, an international non-government organization specializing in disaster response. There are a significant number of veterans who volunteer and it’s great to be out there as a team.
It’s super easy to join and the volunteer annd training opportunities are endless. I receive an email for events up and down the eastern seaboard and they include from participating in initial relief efforts to clean up afterwards.
