IWB holsters

Been looking for a IWB holster to get my friend for his birthday. reading as much as I can has pretty much lead me to these three

he intends to carry every day, so I want something that holds up. and pairs with a good gunbelt too. Any thoughts or other things I should consider for him?
 
I'll throw another brand at you to check out- sticky holsters. You can wear it without issues even in something as light as basketball shorts....provided you aren't carrying a desert eagle.

I have one of these for a Shield and I got it for that purpose - light athletic shorts and it works pretty well.

What is he trying to carry? Do you know if he would prefer leather or kydex?
 
The nice thing about Alien Gear is that you can send the shell back for as long as you own the holster and get a new one if you change guns.
 
I do like that, but I've heard they had some quality control issues recently

Crossbreed is similar to Aliengear. I have one and like it but the thing is really squeaky and I've tried some different things to help with it. It's the metal hooks on the leather that squeak when they move as your body moves around.

I love my crossbreed!  If you go this route, spend the extra couple buck for horsehide! Just my .02!

I have the horsehide as well - just squeaky that's my only issue with it.
 
I'm a huge fan of the Raven Concealment ones.  I have one for almost all of my guns, and they're fantastic.  For the M&P Shield, they have a different style than for the rest of their lineup, and I carry it nearly every day, from jeans and a tee to formal attire.  Great product, highly recommended.

I have an aliengear IWB 3.0, their paddle holster, their gun belt, and shells for a G23 and a G43...love both holsters for either firearm, no squeaks for me.

I used a small piece of the fuzzy side of velco tape and stuck it on the metal belt clips. Instant quiet. I've got plenty more tape if you want some.

ordered 2 alien gears tonight with an extra shell. Thanks for the opinions! I'll make sure to update this with other holsters I end up with. Because you can't just have one.
 
I am a little late in this convo, but I would consider where on the body you want to carry and body composition may have a say in that as well as the size of the pistol.  I am a fan of appendix carry for anything I can fit under my gut, I have Alien gear holsters and I like them too.  I am a fan of the Desantis IWB line too though.  I use Kydex holsters for OWB but, prefer the comfort of leather IWB, just my preference.  In my experience, you really end up trying several brands/types before you find that perfect preference.  Be safe.
 
Also late to this convo, but may I suggest Raw-Dog tactical holsters. They are like alien gear with a mix of kydex and leather but they have a single clip instead of a dual threaded loop system. For me, taking the gun/holster combo off quickly and easily using a single clip is a big plus because I don't want to take my belt off each time.

Also, as was mentioned, I too carry appendix and a slimmer single clip crossbreed (for me) is by far the most comfortable and convenient way to carry. Good luck with your choice, Alien Gear makes a great product and their customer service is fantastic.

how do I put this..... mcdonalds friendly to accommodate an apendix, I picked him up an aliengear and he loves it so far, I know i'll end up getting him another soon though, so keep the suggestions coming!
