Edit: the blue jeep did notvwork out, therr was a check engine light on on the second test drive. We found a white 2 door, hard top, 6 speed manual Rubicon and bought it instead. Original post below.

Hi all, I am finally realizing my dream of owning a jeep. This Saturday I will be picking up a 2009 2 door automatic Wrangler X hard top. It looks to be completely stock.

I have plans for upgrades in the future, limited only by my budget, lol.

My wife and I vacation out in nature and love to explore Forrest service roads but found some "trails" more intimidating for the vehicles we have owned over the years. It wasn't their capabilities that scared us, it was that they were our daily drivers, and were in great shape and did not want to scratch or damage them. The Jeep is going to be our recreational vehicle and used accordingly.

I used to ride a DR650 in all the locations we have traveled, but decided it was time to be on 4 wheels now.

We look forward to making new friends here, learning about our jeeps capabilities, and ours as well. Also to learn what me may really need to upgrade, versus what I dream to do to the Jeep.
Thanks for having me as a member here.

Welcome from Woodbridge. There is a lot of great info in the forum. Check out the "Best of..." at the top of most of the categories. Be sure to post some pics when you get the new Jeep and look forward to seeing you at some upcoming events.

Jeep Wrangler update:

The blue Wrangler X developed a check engine light by the time we tried the second test drive so we passed on it. We did find a 2009 white Rubicon 2 door 6 speed manual for a similar price and mileage, and bought it. We teamed up with Sherman and did Peter's Mill run trail this morning. So far so great!

Awesome! Congrats! You'll be glad later that you got a Rubicon! Welcome from Fairfax (near George Mason)!
