Fun spots to drive and hike?

Correct, sort of .. what we did before the center of Shoe Creek was gated was go to the south trailhead, then run to the top of Shoe Creek, then im the parking lot there is hiking trailhead to the falls...

I'd go ahead and run the top half of Shoe Creek down and back, and then do the hike, but you could of course do whatever you like .

This weekend I went with a friend and stayed in Wintergreen. We then took the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Crabtree Falls 4x4 Trailhead, rode it down to the Meadows parking lot, hiked to the falls, and did the Upper Shoe Creek run. We left via the Crabtree Falls Parkway and went to Blue Mountain Brewery via the Crabtree Falls Parkway.

The drive from the 4x4 trailhead (Meadows Road) to the parking lot is pretty easy, much more like a gravel road with some occasional ruts and bumps. After the parking lot Meadows Road becomes Upper Shoe Creek and is much more like a real trail and had some obstacles/good decision points. Nothing bad though. It was a lot of fun and some beautiful views!
