Farm Use TJ

Had some time to get the rear brakes buttoned up and the fuel system is done now too. Next is tidy up some my hose routing for the full hydro and finish the front brakes.

Then I’ll probably knock out the Derale transmission cooler/hoses and then start redoing the exhaust to wrap around the oil pan. I need it a tad tighter than what I made for it originally as I didn’t have the front driveshaft installed when I made it. So it has a little bit of clearance issue. I also want to eliminate the expanded tube and make the tube all the same diameter for looks. I’m not of fan of slidng exhaust tube inside the expanded section and welding it up. It just looks cheesy.

Not a big deal!

Brakes are finally complete and no leaks.

I had to bench bleed the new Ram 3500 master cylinder with the Dorman Bench Bleeding kit and it made bench bleeding it a breeze.

No leaks on any of the AN fittings. I was just waiting on some 10mm copper crush washers to arrive to button it all up.

Next up is figuring out where to put the Derale transmission cooler and plumbing the lines for it.

I also tidied up the full hydro hoses and AN brake lines bit more for a cleaner look.

Then I’m going to start designing the center console and trans/twin stick shifter install.

Are you going to base your console design on the Genright console? That thing is sweet, but spendy. I'm interested to see what you come up with. I just hacked up my TJ console and bolted the winters shifter to the tub floor in the same spot as the stock shifter and kept the TJ location for the Atlas shifters. I only had to adjust the atlas TJ shifters location a little after the LS/TH400 swap.

I’m going to use 1.75” or 1.5” DOM and build it off of the tube work that I did for the dash. This way it’s all tied into the cage with clean lines.

I had some time this week to redo my exhaust that wraps around the block. Previously it contacted the front driveshaft at full bump. Now there is plenty of clearance on both sides for the upper links and the front driveshaft. I’ll finish that up next week once I get a few more pieces of stainless exhaust tubing

I had some more time today to finish the exhaust. I’m using a Dynomax muffler with a wrap around style section coming off the headers. I ran this same config on my last LS powered Jeep and it performed perfectly.

I tidied up the hose plumbing a bit more and had a helper to make sure I was doing everything right. 😂

I got the rear limit straps and tabs welded in yesterday. My rear driveshaft was binding at full droop so I needed about 1.5” less droop out of the rear suspension so I used some 14” limit straps that I had left over from a previous build. This was the first time in a while I didn’t have to spend money on a part. Win/win.
