CB Radio

I am curious about CB usage in the club these days. I know most everyone has gone to GMRS.

I keep considering taking my CB out of my Jeep because I really haven't used it in years but didn't know if there would be any need to keep it in.

What is everyone doing these days? Does anyone still run a CB and if so, what are you using it for?

We dropped the CB out of the XJ and have gone exclusively to GMRS

I don't know anyone using CB. I have one, but never use it.

I recommend a Midland MXT500 or a Wouxun KG-1000G. The MXT500 is a 50w, easy to use out of the box weather proof radio. The KG-1000G has no dust/water protection rating, but it's 50w and feature rich... if you're a radio dork and like all the bells and whistles.

Thanks for the recommendations. I do have a Midland unit in my TJ already and I have been very happy with it. I just don't see a need to lug around a CB anymore.

Switched to Dual band (VHF/UHF) years ago. there are some times on long trips I miss the CB but not the poor comms.
